Earn Online With Lazy Lists. Part II

Building a big and “responsive” list nowadays no longer needs to be the hard work it has often been in the past.

You can grow your list or downline “lazily” if you know how it’s done.

The result of this new kind of listbuilding strategy is what i refer to as a “lazy list”, as i don’t like my list to be asscciated with anything infectious or so to say “viral” …*.-)

Basically growing a lazy list is centered around giving away value, like for instance freebies (trainings, memberships, reports, ebooks, audio or videofiles, software etc.)

That’s no so new itself, so what’s the twist with lazy lists?

Here are the four vital aspects for the lazy list building process, that are tangled with each other:

1. Opportunitites

To get more sign-ups, you need to create more sign-up opportunities.

So that people can get on your list not only just by signing up at your blog or website.

Internet Marketers and their Giveaway-Joint Ventures are an example for creating such opportunities and giveing away freebires at the samre time.

By doing a Joint-Venture Giveaway that attracts a lot of visitors, they are able to reach far more prospects than by just giving away freebies on their own sites.

At least that has worked quiet well in the past.

But i have serious doubts that Giveaways will have the same listbuilding results in the future as in former times.

Why? Well, as this would lead us too far off-topic here, i will explain it in one of my next posts, so stay tuned ….

In the context of lazy listbuilding a Giveaway Joint-Venture (JV) just is no option for the “average” blogger or publisher anyway.

Another way to create more sign-ups, is co-registration.

Co-Registration is a Joint Venture Strategy working similar to JV-Giveaways.

With Co-Registration prospects not only sign up at one list, but are stimulated to sign up at two or even more lists or programs, by getting offered special bonuses or discouints etc.

Similar to JV-Givaeaways, Co-Registration might work for the big dogs, but is not the ideal shortcut to a lazy list for the “little” blogger or self-publisher.

Though i can think of scenarios were bloggers or publishers would form a peer group and might be able to utilize co-registration and perhaps even JV-Giveaways for their listbuilding.

How can you create sign-up opportunities otherwise then?

Well, of course you could participate in lots of traffic exchanges with your splash page, but that wouldn’t be quiet lazy, would it?

I’ll reveal the lazy way to you in an instance, but let me first enlight briefly the other vital aspects of lazy listbuilding, as they go together well.

2. Leverage

Here it comes - the “lazy” part in lazy listbuilding.

Leverage your listbuilding by utilizing the power of the masses. Simpyl let others build your list for you!

Sounds great, doesn’t it? I bet you’re in for this, aren’t you? But wait. Why would others want to build your list?

Perhaps if you can offer them some benefit, some sort of reward or value (see aspect 3.)?

And how could the do it? You must enable them to do it (see aspect 4.)

3. Value

There’s more to the concept of giving value to recceive value in exchange than i discuss here, but basically that’s what is meant by value in the context of lazy list building: a fair exchange.

Remember, lazy list building is centred around giving something of value.

Any freebies given away are the incentives to make others sign-up for your list.

So they should be of value, at least of interest to your target audience, and not some rehashed crap.

But what could provide an even greater value or incentive than some freebies?

Right, the greatest value would be, if you’d help others to build their own list too, while they build yours!

Leading us directly to vital aspect No. 4 …

4. Tools

Here’s a short recap of what we’ve got so far:

If you want to grow a lazy list you need to create sign-up opportunities and leverage your listbuilding with the help of other people.

You need to motivate and convince theese people to help you on this by giving value to them. Also you need to enable them to build your list for them.

Tahdah! Enter: the tools.

It’s plain to see that you would have hard times trying to build a list without the proper tools. You might get a list sooner or later without tools, but despite it’s size - would it deserve to be referred as a “lazy” list? I don’t think so.

But have no fear. When it comes to tools, we are living in interesting times …*-).

What seemed completely impossible for non-gurus only some months ago, has now become more a matter of choice!

Because there are several tools available today you can use to build a lazy list.

Theese tools consist mainly of software (what else did you expect?), which is either usable stand-alone, or usable via membership.

And the best is, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg. In fact most tools you can get or try for free. Allowing you to find out which ones best match your list building requirements.

Here are my favourite tools for building a lazy list.

Each tool i’m going to introduce to you differs from the others in the way it adresses the aspects 1 to 3 of lazy list building.

You may decide to only use one of them, but i advise you to try them all and experiment, until you have found your personal blend to make your lazy list grow and grow and grow …

The first tool mainly deals with aspect no. 3 “Value”. It’s a great source for free ebooks, that you can brand with your affiliate links and then give away to your visitors or readers, thus making them come back to your site or blog for more. Which you could offer them as a sign-up bribe.

It’s a quiet new membership site, which still allows you to become a member for free. This can change any day now, so you better go here and get in free while you still can.

Unfortunately there is no functionality included for giving away your freebies or for listbuilding, at least not for free members.

So to spread your ebooks you should consider to use some of the more advanced traffic exchanges in addtition, like for instance this one.

This way you can attract lots of new visitors to your site. Some traffic exchanges will even help you build your lazy list, like this one, which now also allows you to promote your business or site with viral reports.

The second tool i recommend for building your lazy list is a system in form of a professional designed lead capture page that gives away a pdf-report on downline building.

The report is customized with your (affiliate)links and a link to your main business or website.

The system will host your lead page free for you and collect your leads, which you are able to download and import to any other list or autoresponder of yours.

You don’t have to set up the system yourself, nor do you need to run, host or monitor it. Everything is taken care of for you. Especially if you’re not into techie stuff, you should consider this system.

All you need to do is simply advertise the lead capture page or direct your visitors to it via a special link you will get from the system.

This way you can give away value and at the same time grow your list in a lazy manner. You can check it out here.

There is also a free membership available to the system, offering some advanced knowledge on list- and downlinebuilding.

My third tool is a very special breed. It has the most advanced functionality of the tools mentioned so far.

It covers each of the vital aspects for lazy listbuilding in a perfect way.

But what i like best: it allows you to partner with the people who signed up to your list.

They can build their own list and their own business with it without any cost, while they help you to build your list and your business at the same time.

I could go on and on praising the benefits of this tool, but to make a long story short, i suggest that you watch the video about it at this page. And get the free pdf explaining it in more detail there too.

I hope you find my thoughts on earning online with lazy lists useful.

Now it’s your turn. Go ahead and grow your lazy list …

To YOUR success,

Michael
