Earn Online With Lazy Lists. Part I
When it comes to Online-Profits, the money is in the “list”.
That’s what ALL the marketers say.
And a big list simplified equals big money.
So everybody is striving hard to have a big one. At least until now …
Because now the times are changing. Lists can finally be grown lazily.
I like to call this type of lists “lazy lists”.
Before i explain to you how to grow your list the lazy way - first some basics in case you perhpas don’t have a clue what i’m talking about:
What is a “list” in the context of blogging or online-publishing? And why would you want to have one, especially a lazy one?
Basically with a “list” you collect information about the visitors or readers of your blog or website.
Why? Because theese people bear a potential for you to earn an online income.
Don’t get me wrong now: i don’t say that you should treat your visitors primary as an economic factor, or look at them mainly with a dollar sign in your eyes.
But let’s face it. If you want to monetize your website or blog, your website visitors and readers are a valuable resource.
Simplified we can say, that the more visitors or readers a website or blog has, the bigger is its income potential.
This income could be generated from multiple sources. Like for instance by selling advertisement space, via banner views, ad clickthroughs or even by actively selling goods or services online.
That’s why website traffic is so important.
And in addition to the mere quantity of visitors, it is important to attract visitors that match with your field of interest or your niche.
Theese are the ones who will take a closer look at whatever you have to offer.
And if they like what they find, chances are they might come back.
Chances are they leave comments or relate and interact with you, perhaps even become friends and / or customers.
The most important information for you as publisher or blogger in this context is the contact data of your visitors or readers, especially their email adress.
Without this data, you won’t be able to contact them, be it to tell them about an update of your website or blog, to send them helpful information, to offer your help or your professional service or anything else of value to them. And you couldn’t get in touch with them anymore, if they wouldn’t visit your site once in a while.
One way to collect this data and build your list is to offer your visitors or readers to sign up for your newsletter or for your feeds. But how many of them will do so?
You could also use email marketing and send direct mail to targeted prospects on “safelists”.
A lot of people even buy “leads” to send mail to.
But this i can’t recommend for several reasons. Like for instance even if it are so called optin- or double-optin leads, theese persons have not opted in to get mail from you, and so you are always endangered of being accused of spamming, which might even lead to shutdown of your account or website by your ISP.
All in all building a big and “responsive” list has often been very hard work in the past.
But today you can grow your list in a lazy manner, or like some say: virally.
I prefer the term “lazy” instead of “viral”, as the latter has become quiet a hype or buzzword already, and in addition reminds me of some unhealthy issues …*-)
As it is already way past midnight here and i’m quiet tired now: more about “lazy lists” and how to grow them with ease in tomorrows follow up to this post: Earn Online With Lazy Lists Part II.
Stay tuned …
