Are You One Out Of Ten?

Many struggle online.

Only a few succeed.

Nine out of ten entrepreneurs fail offline.

Assumed this ratio is valid for online business too:

Are you the one out of ten who will succeed?

Kenneth Koh has written a post in the LeadsLeap Blog, where he shows you how to increase your odds in online success by simple math:

If the failure ratio is nine out of ten, than you just have to be an online entrepreneur ten times, to succeed one time!

Brilliant thought for sure.

Though online success might not be exactly a simple numbers game like this.

But from my own experience i know that it takes persistence to succeed.

You need to have a long breath.

So don’t give up if your first project fails. Or even your second etc.

Try to figure out what went wrong and apply the insights gained to your next project.

Proceed, improve, keep working steadily on your success.

Here’s a sample of what America’s greatest inventor, Thomas Alva Edison had to say on the topic:

  • “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
  • “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”

So to be the one out of ten who will succeed, just don’t give up when you face odds and obstacles on your way.

Reframe perceived “failure” mentally and see it as a mere step on your path towards your success.

Or to say it with the words of Kenneth Koh:

“So, if you are thinking of quitting, why not think about what your next project is going to be?

If you persists and keep improving, success is inevitable.” (1)

Well I hope I am the one out of ten but I think the key possibly is to know when to give up.

It would be quite annoying to keep going at something that wil never work, but at the same time, give up on something that success was just around the corner.

I think we all know that ultimately you will not get anywhere unless you work very hard - how hard you work depends on success. This is where 9 out of 10 will fail IMO

Nice post! Maybe it’s not the trying that matters as much as the love of the game. Because if you’re doing it for the love- than while being unsuccessful stinks- it still wasn’t why you were doing it anyway. So trying again isn’t a question- it’s a given.

So that’s where the “10,000 ways that won’t work” quote comes from! Thank you!

The nice thing about online businesses is that you can really define success for yourself. There is not much overhead, so whether you want $10 a day or $1,000 a day is really up to you.
